Welcome to The University of Vermont Medical Center Virtual Gallery!

The University of Vermont Medical Center’s extensive art collection represents its commitment to enhancing the healing environment and offering solace and inspiration to patients, visitors, and staff alike.  The collection holds nearly 1,500 works of art and features nearly 50 Vermont artists. While much of this artwork adorns the hospital's walls, many pieces are in patient-care settings that limit their accessibility.  Fully funded through philanthropy, our virtual art gallery brings the collection to a broader community of individuals both on site and well beyond our walls to explore these special pieces and to experience the healing power of art.

The virtual art gallery is the legacy of artist Michael Buckley and his wife Laura Lipton. Through their generosity and that of Burlington City Arts, we were able to establish this virtual gallery in 2014.  The ongoing maintenance and expansion of our virtual gallery has also been supported by donors as well as undergraduate Campus Arts Interns from the University of Vermont's School of the Arts. Through the deep commitment and collaborative efforts of donors, staff, and interns, the site is a key component of the hospital's collection, enhancing its visibility to a range of audiences.

We invite you to explore our numerous exhibitions, each offering a unique journey through the captivating world of Vermont artistry. Immerse yourself in our rotating exhibits and enrich our vibrant community of art enthusiasts through your presence and participation.
