Marielle Bisson

Marielle Bisson was born in northern Vermont in a house owned by Robert Frost. Her lifelong obsession with painting was fostered by her local library, the St. Johnsbury Athanaeum, where she spent her days with a remarkable, world-class collection of Hudson River paintings.

Marielle received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in drawing at Pratt Institute, graduating with honors in 1978. In 1981, she earned a Master's Degree in Museum Education from Bank Street College of Education 1981.

Her work is in corporate and museum collections in the United States and Europe. Marielle has been awarded many grants and residencies, including a 2014 and 2015 Pollock Krasner Foundation Fellowship, and the 2012 New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship in Painting.
