Don Ross

Based in Brandon, Vermont, Don Ross’ photography is collected throughout the United States and Europe. Trained in sculpture and drawing at the New York Studio School, he brings years of artistic training to his photographic work. Though some may consider them a ruin, Ross finds a cathedral-like beauty in his focus on rural industrial landscapes of Vermont. Rising before dawn to capture these locations in the lonely early morning hours, Ross creates breathtaking abstractions of these post-industrial sites. Ross’ photographs force us to contemplate both the impact industry has had on our Vermont environment and, paradoxically, the beautiful, humanmade, industry-created quarries.
